UNHCR<\/strong>, the UN Refugee Agency, is a global organization dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people.<\/p>\n

UNHCR<\/strong> has appealed for Sudan\u2019s contribution to be matched with international solidarity and resources. Much more donor support is required so that we can help the hundreds of thousands of refugees in the country and the communities hosting them.<\/p>\n

IT work to ensure that everybody\u00a0has the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge, having fled\u00a0violence, persecution, war or disaster at home.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since 1950, they have faced multiple crises on multiple continents, and provided vital assistance to\u00a0refugees,\u00a0asylum-seekers,\u00a0internally displacedand\u00a0stateless people, many of whom have nobody left to turn to.<\/p>\n

The office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) was created in 1950, during the aftermath of the Second World War, to help millions of Europeans who had fled or lost their homes. We had three years to complete our work and then disband.<\/strong><\/p>\n
